A TIP FROM COACH JAY:
GET RACE DAY READY
Marathon season has officially arrived, which means for many of you that race day is around the corner. As your race approaches it's important to mimic your training routine as much as possible. It's natural for your nerves to keep you up the night before race day; however, make sure to keep the other variables normal. A few important things to remember include eating your regular pre-run snack, wearing the same gear you've sported during your training runs (if you're going to wear racing shoes, make sure you've done several long workouts in them), and hydrating prior to the race, just as you did for your long runs. Basically, on race day and the days leading up to it, keep your regimen consistent to that of your training to ensure a great run on the big day.
